Join us for an exciting panel discussion on producing for community theater! This event promises to be an insightful and informative discussion on the inner workings of producing for the theater, from selecting a play to the final performance.
Our expert panelists will share their insights, experience, tips and tricks on what it takes to produce a successful show. The panel will cover topics such as play selection, putting together a production team, casting, marketing, and much more.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in theater production, whether you are an experienced producer or are about to be tapped to produce your first show. You will have the chance to learn from some of the best in our community.

- Tickets are $40 each, $45 at the door. (If available - since this is our first in-person celebration in three years we anticipate a high probability of selling out.) Online purchase incurs a 2.50 fee per ticket.
- Assigned Seating ONLY - If individuals in your party or company want to sit together, please coordinate orders on a timely basis for best seating. EMACT will not be coordinating seating at the Gala.
- Group Sales - Group sales must reserve a minimum of 10 tickets, which can be payable by check, credit card, or PayPal, and can be reserved by contacting Hugh Thompson, Treasurer at 781-718-7237 or at [email protected]. There is no transaction fee for group sales. We strongly encourage groups to purchase tickets early.

HOW TO DEVELOP AN EFFECTIVE DIRECTOR'S CONCEPT

Michael McGarty shared insight and strategies for new and aspiring directors, and directors looking for new ways to bring shows to a higher, more exciting level. This workshop discussed how to realize a fully developed production where all the dramatic elements work together to support the text and a director's vision.
FOUNDATIONS FOR BUILDING A RACE EQUITY PLAN
Dates: April 22 & May 13
EMACT was excited to host Mass Cultural Council Executive Director Michael J. Bobbitt, who reviewed the foundations for building a race equity plan, including obstacles and pitfalls to building it. Participants talked through best practices and received examples of well tested anti-racist action steps that they can use as they build their own organizational plans.
