EMACT Festival 2024!

We are excited to announce that EMACT will be hosting a state festival from August 2nd - 4th, 2024. The festival will occur at the Sophia Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts at Salem State University!

Registration is now available!  Click here to access the registration forms,

To be eligible, each group:
  • Must be an EMACT Member
  • Must be a Member of AACT
  • Must exist for at least one year before the state festival.

The deadline to register is April 1, 2024. In April, you'll receive the EMACTFest Handbook, loaded with all the rules, production requirements, and other secrets to make your participation legendary.

And for those wanting to make it a weekend affair in Salem, we've got sweet group pricing for accommodations to keep your theatrical spirits high! Stay tuned for more info.

Meet the Adjudicators!
Hold on to your hats because we've got a powerhouse trio ready to assess your brilliance:
  • Steven Butler from Sarasota, FL, brings a wealth of experience from The Sarasota Players and Actors’ Warehouse.
  • Lynn Kremer from Holy Cross is a master of acting, voice, and performance art.
  • Kelly Morgan from Fitchburg State University is a theater dynamo with a rich New York City and beyond background.

If you've got questions or want to chat about the festival, email [email protected], and our Festival Co-Chairs will happily join your Board Meeting for a theater-infused discussion!

We are excited to bring back the Festival vibes to Eastern Massachusetts!  Now, all we need is YOU! This is your chance to shine, whether it's a cut from a full-length play, a one-act wonder, or a snippet from a musical. EMACT's got your back with workshops, technical assistance, and a weekend of theatrical bliss adjudicated by pros with no affiliation. It's not just a festival; it's a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the pure joy of theater. Let's make this festival an unforgettable showcase of the incredible talent within our EMACT family!
This program is supported in part by the Salem Cultural Council,  a local agency funded by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
