- BAAV plans to have a two hour performance comprised of ten minute slots for individual artists and ensembles to present pieces--the space is a bit small for a dance performance, but ten minute plays, poems, monologues, or music would be ideal. Basically, the theatre will let us do a run through the day of the show, so all rehearsal and prep work for performances would be done on your own time in your own space, which keeps it simpler. We will do low to no tech and minimal set-up for each piece.
- In regards to themes, we are interested in pieces that respond to and facilitate dialogue about unjust police violence against people of color and other issues of injustice and violence in our communities. Original pieces are encouraged!
- It is crucial that the event feature performances by artists of color, first and foremost. All artists are welcome to respond, of course, but this is something BAAV will be mindful of as we put together the program of performances for the event.
