Educational Theater Consulting (ETC)
Now community theatres in and around Eastern Massachusetts can get an objective view of their production from an experienced theatre consultant.
ETC is a non-competitive, educational program designed to help groups hone their skills. We heard our member groups say that very often the technical solution or production value comment made by an EMACT Consultant through written or verbal means may have been useful earlier in the production process. Now it is!
At any time during the production process - pre show or during production - consultants are available for verbal presentations, with an option for discussion and questions, or a written report that may be shared as desired. Each consultation can be approached with either a general or a very specific focus.
Distinguished Achievement and Special Honors (DASH)
Award the commitment of your community theatre company with the Distinguished Achievement and Special Honors program. Designed to compliment Educational Theater Consulting (ETC), DASH is dedicated to member groups who wish to participate in a season-long competition for outstanding achievement.
Each year member groups may submit an application for any or all shows in their season that they wish to have considered for awards. Members of an award nominating committee view shows submitted to the program, and score each element of the show based on standard criteria. Winners are announced at the September Gala and DASH Awards Banquet. Recognition is given for both plays and musicals in areas including performance, direction, stage management and lighting, sound and costume design.
